Nollywood Movie star Mercy Aigbe's husband Lanre Gentry remand in kirikiri prison


The movie star, Mercy Aigbe's husband , 52 year old  Lanre Gentry, has been docked before a magistrate court 1 sitting at ogba, Ikeja Lagos on 3 count charges under the state criminal law 2011.
His appearance before the court came barely six days after another magistrate court barred Gerry from coming close to the actress and the 2 children in her custody.
Gentry, who was alleged to have physically assaulted his wife Mercy appeared before the Court yesterday and pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him by the Lagos state government. It would be recalled that Lagos state waded into the alleged domestic violence after the actress reported her attack to the Lagos state government through the domestic and sexual violence response team (DSVRT).
During the court proceedings, the magistrate, Mrs Y.O. Aje- Afunwa granted the defendant bail of #500, 000 after he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate added that, Gentry must also provide tax verification and 2 sureties, one of whom must own property in Lagos state. Just as she adjourn the case till July 2nd. It was disclosed that the actress husband was unable to meet the bail conditions before the end of the day, leading to his remand in prison.

  A retired soldier has told an Igando Customary court in Lagos that his wife violently rapes him in the middle of the night. According to the man identified as Gafaru Rodoye, his wife "has turned my boxers to rags as she always tears them to rape me." Speaking in court on Tuesday, Rodoye revealed that his wife, Idiat, with whom he had five children in their 20-year old marriage, always raped him to satisfy her urges. He said: “My wife always rape me; she had turned all my boxers to rags to achieve her selfish aim. I had to run away from my 16-flat building to rent an apartment elsewhere just to avoid her frequent beatings, but she trailed me to my new apartment to fight me.
