Six notorious kidnappers terrorizing Kaduna – Abuja highway have been arrested. TheKaduna State internal security outfit, Operation Yaki, announced the success in Kaduna today. The suspects were picked up on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th June 2017 by Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Teams in a joint operation with the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Teams (IRT) and with the support from the Technical Intelligence Unit (TIU). The arrest of the kidnappers is sequel to the massive deployment of more police assets and patrol vehicles in the area in the last one week. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 arraigned the duo of Buhari. Fannami and Ba-Kura Abdullahi on two separate one count charge before Justice M. T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri, for allegedly giving false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy. Fannamit had misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba’a Lawan but the information turned out to be false after the execution of a search warrant. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arraigned a principal accountant at Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund. Auwal Ibrahim, the director of Works at the Federal College of Education, Gombe, Wali Usman and one Yunusa Yakubu and his companies Lubell Nigeria Limited and Archfirst Nigeria limited. They were arraigned before Justice Sa’ad Muhammad of the Gombe State High Court on 17 count charge bordering on conspiracy, contract scam, abuse of office and diversion of public funds. The accused persons were invited to EFCC Gombe Zonal office, following a petition by concerned staff of the Gombe State University, alleging that contract from TETfund were strictly awarded to cronies of the management staff of the university. They further alleged that the suspects connived with TETfund officials to inflate contracts for their personal benefit.
